Whimmydiddle Arts & Crafts Fair

The Whimmydiddle comes to Scott City Park the last Saturday in September. It is an Arts and Crafts Fair named after a wooden toy. A gala event held in the open air of Scott City Park, over 300 exhibitors from 11 states arrive with original art, metal working, pottery and crafts in wood, fabric and food. This is an event not to be missed!

Cattle Feeding Industry

See the multi-million dollar cattle feeding industry in action. Visit a feedlot and see how modern equipment and management work hand-in- hand to produce food for a nation. Scott County consistently ranks # 1 in cattle feeding counties in Kansas.

Keystone Gallery

The Keystone Gallery is north of Scott City, just off US- 83. A historic limestone building built in 1917 as a community church now is an art gallery. It houses a pre- historic museum, curio shop, artwork, and information about Monument Rocks.

Visitors can view everything from sharks teeth and fossil fish to flying and swimming reptiles.

Great Hunting

Hunters from every state in the Union come to hunt pheasants in Scott County. The community provides hunter's breakfasts, bird cleaning and a host of related services to make the hunt successful. Accommodations range from one bed daily to rooms with kitchen facilites to be rented weekly.

Scott County Fair & Beefiesta

The Scott County Fair has become a tradition of the best popular entertainment found in communities this size. Featuring big name bands from around the country for major entertainment, the Scott County Fair is a treat to attend. The Fair is held in mid-July and incorporates Beefiesta, a free barbeque as well as beef tasting booths all sponsored by the cattle producers of Scott County, agriculture related businesses and the Chamber of Commerce.

Buffalo Near State Park

Herds of buffalo once roamed the prairie freely. Although they were decimated by hunting in the 1800's, you now can see them again in their natural habitat or local feedlots.

Fall Car Show

The Lake Scott Car Club holds the Lake Scott Rod Run & Show each year on the third weekend of August. Visitors are welcome to stroll through the Scott City Park on South Main and enjoy the outstanding craftsmanship of area rodders.

Lake Scott State Park

Lake Scott State Park is a picturesque oasis in the High Plains, Visitors enjoy picnicking, boating, nature trails, swimming, canoe and paddle boat rentals at the Beach House, camping, RV Park, Historical sites, year round fishing including ice fishing and a wildlife refuge.
